How Electric Scooters help Lessen Environment Pollution

Amid climate issues affecting countries worldwide, environment-friendly scooters offer an undeniable advantage over any other mode of transportation. It's for obvious reasons: they are fast, easy to use, compact, and more importantly, eco-friendly scooters too.  Dubbed as ‘rideables,’ they help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and significantly contribute to the easing of traffic.

These reasons interconnect in a compelling way, as electric scooters provide an eminent solution to some of the toughest problems like pollution.

So, how are electric scooters good for the environment?

Electric scooters are more than good. They’re actually great for the environment because riding them doesn’t result in greenhouse-gas emissions. Australian-made Mearth energy-efficient electric scooters utilize electricity that’s no higher than your typical household appliance.

Opting to ride electric scooters helps diminish the need for cars and public transport, which, in due course will improve traffic congestion and decrease the environmental pollution.

In case you‘re not aware, cars, trucks, buses, and motorcycles are primarily powered by gas. Burning gas releases greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gas absorbs and emits bright energy within the thermal infrared range, causing the greenhouse effect. The primary greenhouse gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane,  ozone, and nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas,” is one of the biggest human-related threats to the ozone layer.

Studies revealed that traffic due to vehicles account for about one-fifth of all emissions. On average, a car on the road releases 404 grams of CO2 (carbon dioxide) for every mile it travels. Cars and other vehicles burn the most fuel when accelerating. This is especially so when going from standing still to moving.

The same is true when decreasing speed. A car will spend extra fuel and emit more pollutants when braking or coming to a stop. Did you know that traffic jams cause extra pollution? The slower the traffic moves, the more pollution it generates.

Electric scooters were designed to avoid fossil fuel emissions,  from the ground up. Worse, coal, crude oil, and natural gas are all considered fossil fuels and they have a high carbon content. The burning of fossil fuels is the main source of greenhouse gas emissions contributing to global warming and ocean acidification.

Since electric scooters run on rechargeable batteries,  they do not release greenhouse gases. Consider, therefore, leaving your car at home and taking your electric scooter, head outdoors. A whiff of cool air may prove refreshing while breezing through traffic.

Taking this option will gradually eliminate one car from contributing to traffic and pollution. That’s about 400 grams of carbon dioxide per mile less!

You’ll also be amazed to discover the range and distance that electric scooters have no emissions so they really are safe for the environment. Talk about electric scooter efficiency!

Mearth S electric scooter weighs only 23 lbs, plus the weight of one rider.  Using one does not cost a lot of electricity too. The increase in one’s productivity, like faster travel time, and low maintenance cost that e-scooters provide is well worth the few kilowatt-hours it costs to charge the batteries.

Amid changing times, we can be certain of one thing –- battery-powered scooters are here to stay. It’s a good development, considering how far they’ve come, in decades past. This, along with their significant contribution to lessening carbon footprint.

To sum up, the real winner here is humankind. By steadily transitioning to the electric-powered mode of transport, we become less and less reliant on fossil fuel. The best part is that we get a cleaner environment for ourselves and those we care about.
