Legends Outlets kicks off holiday season with 11th annual Legendary Lighting Ceremony presented by Google Fiber on Saturday, Nov. 21

Santa Claus will lead the countdown to signal metro’s largest display of animated lights; Entertainment will include live holiday music, prize giveaways and more

Kansas City, Kan. (Nov. 11, 2015) – Legends Outlets Kansas City, Kansas City’s only designer outlet shopping center, is kicking off the holiday season with its 11th annual tree lighting ceremony presented by Google Fiber on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Centered around its 45-foot holiday tree, the Legendary Lighting Ceremony will include live holiday music, prize giveaways and a special appearance from Santa Claus, who will join this year’s official emcees, KSHB 41 personalities Rhiannon Ally and Mike Marusarz, to ignite a center-wide light display – one of the region’s first and largest displays of animated lights synchronized to music.

Event Details

Date: Saturday, Nov. 21, 6 – 8 p.m. (center courtyard)

The Display: A 45-foot holiday tree returns this year as the Legends Outlets' main centerpiece, located at the center of the Civic Courtyard Fountain in front of Phoenix Theaters Legends 14. The tree is decorated with LED lighting festive snowflakes, and a three-foot-six-inch snowfall topper featuring a mix of static LED light bars and double-sided LED animated show tubes. A second holiday tree, also synchronized to music, will be located near Helzberg Diamonds Outlet. Festive decorations will light up throughout the shopping center during the ceremony and continue through the entire holiday season.

Legends Outlets shoppers will enjoy the lighting display synchronized to music every 15 minutes during the holiday season, Nov. 22 – Jan. 2, 2016.Parker 3D, an international, holiday design company based in Scotch Plains, N.J., is the producer of the holiday lighting show.

Emcees: This year’s official lighting ceremony emcees are KSHB 41 evening personalities, the husband-and-wife anchor team of Rhiannon Ally and Mike Marusarz. Rhiannon and Mike will take center stage at 6 p.m. to kick off the ceremony, introduce the musicians, give away prizes and assist Santa Claus in leading the countdown to the tree lighting.

Live Holiday Music: Local musicians from various bands will perform classic holiday music leading up to the tree lighting countdown from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Santa Claus: Santa Claus will join the Legendary Lighting Ceremony emcees at 7:45 p.m. and lead the countdown to the dynamic synchronized tree lighting display.

#LegendsHoliday Instagram Contest

When: Nov. 21 – Dec. 16

What: Starting at the Legendary Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 21, and for the 25 days following, shoppers can show their holiday spirit by taking pictures in front of Legends Outlets’ 45-foot tree and posting to Instagram using the hashtag #LegendsHoliday. Legends Outlets will track the hashtag #LegendsHoliday and award Instagram followers with various prizes throughout the contest, including a $500 Legends Outlets gift card as the grand prize for one Instagram follower to be announced on Dec. 16. Holiday Hours

To provide shoppers with added convenience, Legends Outlets will extend its operating hours during the busy holiday season.

  • Nov. 26: Closed until 11 p.m. for early entertainment and swag bag giveaways before the center opens at midnight for Black Friday
  • Nov. 27: Center officially opens at 12 a.m. for Black Friday shopping with 21 hours of holiday deals (center will close at 9 p.m.
  • Nov. 28: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Nov. 29 – Dec. 23: Extended holiday hours: Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 24: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (early close)
  • Dec. 25: CLOSED
  • Dec. 26: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Dec. 27: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 28 – Dec. 30: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Dec. 31: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (early close)
  • Jan. 1, 2016: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (early close)
  • Jan. 2, 2016: Resume standard operating hours: Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
