  • Written by: Pitch Engine

Blank brings experience and enthusiasm to help SSC enhance the reputation of Seattle’s sporting community

SEATTLE—July 16, 2015— Aaron Blank, president and CEO of The Fearey Group, today was named to the Seattle Sports Commission’s (SSC) Board of Directors. The SSC’s mission is to make Seattle a world-class sports community.

Blank is an avid sports fan and staunch advocate for Seattle-based NBA and NHL franchises. Under his leadership The Fearey Group focuses on sports as one of its verticals and works to support Seattle’s hospitality community, two areas in which SSC plays an essential role.

Passionate about civic engagement, Blank said, “I believe deeply in the power of individuals and organizations to benefit our industry and community, both locally and globally. It’s not only our privilege, it’s our responsibility. At The Fearey Group, we encourage all staff to sit on at least two boards, one that is personal to them and one industry related.”

The Fearey Group works with the Lenny Wilkens Foundation, which funds organizations that deliver healthcare and education services to under-privileged youth in Seattle, primarily the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. Most recently the firm helped launch the 15 to 1: Jermaine Kearse Foundation, which focuses on providing unique opportunities to children of military families.

Blank sits on the Board of Directors for the aforementioned Lenny Wilkens and 15 to 1: Jermaine Kearse Foundations, as well as for the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Executive Board and chairs the marketing and PR committee for the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN); he holds the same positions for the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors Academy (CAPRSA). Blank’s current board appointments make him uniquely qualified to enhance the reputation of and advocate for the Seattle sports community.

Seattle Sports CommissionThe Seattle Sports Commission (SSC), a division Visit Seattle, is committed to making Seattle a world-class sports community.  Sports can bring the world to Seattle and bring our region together.  A strong sports culture can strengthen local businesses, local kids, and local pride. www.seattlesports.org
