To be sure, the city of Santa Fe is a fabulous mix of style and substance on many levels. From the unique celebrations found nowhere else in the world, to an architecture archetype fused with old world civilizations, to vibrant food styles representing a region that has seduced travelers for centuries, this ancient city is an experience like no other place. Whatever the league, there must be leader, and Geronimo is the sentinel that raises the tone of fine dining in the City Different.

With culinary dexterity, Executive Chef Eric Di Stefano and Chef de Cuisine Paul Novak are not afraid of flavor. Sometimes intense, always bold, Geronimo features a cuisine that is global eclectic, interpreted to fit the American Southwest. The complex dishes range from New Mexico lamb chops with panfried red potato cakes, candied shallots, and hot mustard–chile-mint sauces to mesquite-grilled Maine lobster tails over angel hair pasta, served with a creamy garlic-chile sauce. Bing cherry and prosciutto salad with baby arugula, Spanish goat cheese and sweet sherry vinaigrette, and peppery elk tenderloin with apple-smoked bacon remain perennial favorites. Desserts are artful and rich— note the chocolate hazelnut cake with blood-orange sauce and caramel crème anglaise, and caramelized banana cream pie with ginger cream and milk chocolate.

Señor Geronimo Lopez was the first resident of the hacienda in which Geronimo is housed. A massive-walled adobe dating from 1756, Geronimo is old world elegance with intimate, white dining rooms, beamed ceilings, wood floors, and fireplaces. The proprietors have clearly paid attention to each detail, from linen selection, chair selection, art, flooring and lighting. In summer you can dine under the front portal and watch the action on Canyon Road; in winter the bar with a fireplace is seductive and inviting, and the cocktails are just as fine.

Geronimo is renowned for both its cuisine and its highly refined service, where tradition and innovation merge. For two decades, this local legend has established a reputation as Santa’s Fe’s most delectable and atmospheric dining experience. Geronimo is New Mexico’s only Mobil 4 Star and AAA 4 Diamond-rated restaurant, and has been distinguished by Opentable as a part of it’s “Top 100 Restaurants in the US” list.
