GUEST STARRING IN ALL-NEW "RACEGATE" EPISODE ON JUNE 4, 2015

LOS ANGELES (June 1, 2015) – Actress/Comedian NINA DANIELS will guest star as herself in an all-new episode of comedian Mark Maron’s series, MARON, scheduled to air on IFC on June 4th.

The original scripted comedy series MARON, chronicles the life and times of veteran comedian Marc Maron. A comedian for 25 years, he's had his problems. He was an angry, drunk, self-involved, twice divorced compulsive mess for most of his adult life, but with the popularity of a podcast he does in his garage and a life of sobriety, his life and career are turning around.

In the episode “Racegate,” Daniels joins the disastrous fun as herself, an African-American female comedian, after Marc gets criticized for not having diverse guests on his podcast. The episode was directed by comedy icon Bobcat Goldthwait and also stars Bruce Bruce (Think Like A Man).

Daniels was thrilled work alongside such comedy superstars, adding "I'm a huge Bobcat fan, so that was huge! You hear all of these crazy stories about Marc Maron this, Marc Maron that and it was the complete opposite. Marc couldn't have been cooler and that was disappointing."

A native New Yorker, Daniels has rapidly established herself as one of the funniest young comedians today, delivering her original autobiographical stories and unique show that even includes a cello. Daniels has appeared at the Hollywood Improv, UCB (Bangin’ on a Trash Can with Rachel Bloom), Nerdmelt Theater (Imaginary Radio) and Ice House among others. She has opened for Erik Griffin (Workaholics) at the Pittsburgh Improv and was selected as a sketch writer for the 2015 CBS Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase.

As an actress, Daniels has been gaining much attention for her dynamic performances. Most notably she played an unrecognizable but pivotal character in the Sundance award-winning film PARIAH, directed by Dee Rees and executive produced by Spike Lee. She also appeared in Season 2 of Showtime’s highly-celebrated dramatic series MASTERS OF SEX and FOX Searchlight’s NOTORIOUS, which details the life and death of rap icon Notorious B.I.G.

Up next, Daniels will star in THE UNTITLED NINA DANIELS PROJECT, a semi-autobiographical television pilot about her journey with her cello, Gerry; directed by Justin Donaldson (Key & Peele, Reno 911!) and slated to start shooting in June. This busy actress can also currently be seen starring in the nationwide advertising campaign for hotels.com directed by Ted Melfi (St. Vincent).

Nina Daniels is represented by The J. Arts Group.
