Manhattan Style Rye Ale available Thursday, June 4

Boulder, Colo. (May 27, 2015) Upslope Brewing Company is proud to announce the release of the fourth volume of their limited release Lee Hill Series – Manhattan Style Rye Ale. The quarterly Lee Hill series is named after Upslope’s original, now small batch, North Boulder brewery that revels in experimentation and creativity.

Barrel-aged in select Leopold Brothers Maryland-Style Rye Whiskey barrels, the all-new Manhattan Style Rye Ale was brewed to recreate and reimagine the taste of a classic Manhattan cocktail. Delivering a bold rye flavor with sweet malty aromas, this unique ale has notes of sweet cherries, caramel, rye whiskey and a hint of vanilla. Similar to the timeless cocktail of the same name, the character of the rye whiskey is at the center of this one-of-a-kind 10.4% abv beer.

“I love a good Manhattan with rye whiskey and have always wanted to brew a beer that could replicate the great flavors of this classic cocktail," said Head Brewer Sam Scruby. "When presented with first use Leopold Bros. Maryland Rye Whiskey barrels, the decision was easy. I threw out the recipe book and went outside the box for this cocktail-inspired Manhattan Style Rye Ale."

To celebrate the release Upslope will host a party at their above-mentioned Lee Hill tap room from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015. 19.2-ounce cans of the Manhattan Style Rye Ale will be available for purchase for $10 (limit four). Shopey’s Sandwiches will be on hand serving up their food truck eats.
