Vibram to Expand Footprint at 2015 GoPro Mountain Games

CONCORD, Mass (May 27, 2015) –Vibram, the worldwide leader in high performance soles, FiveFingers® and premium golf discs, returns as gold sponsor to the annual GoPro Mountain Games June 4-7, in Vail, Colorado. New for this year, Vibram will launch its Sole Factor resoling customization program. Additionally, Vibram will be the title sponsor of two new competitions part of the Vibram Disc Golf Experience as well as hosting a Vibram FiveFingers® promotion for those who donate to the non-profit organization Girls on the Run throughout the weekend.

“Vibram is excited to debut the Sole Factor program at the GoPro Mountain Games as it draws some of the world’s best outdoor athletes, people who depend on Vibram soles for the best performance,” comments Allon Cohne, chief marketing officer for Vibram. “Our Sole Factor program creates an entirely new experience for consumers, where footwear, sustainability, creativity and performance all combine in one place. In an effort to showcase its new line of premium golf discs, Vibram will sponsor two new competitions at the GoPro Mountain Games’ Vibram Disc Golf Experience. The Disc Golf Skills competition will feature three qualifying rounds focused on putting and accuracy on Saturday, June6, narrowing the competition field to 36 players. Those golfers will then advance and play head-to-head in the 18 Hole Championship Tournament on Sunday. Winners will split a $5,000 cash purse. For event attendees interested in playing, whether aficionados of the sport or first time participants, Vibram will offer clinics, demos and disc golf challenges throughout the weekend.

“Vibram is a great, long-time partner for us and the disc golf competition is an addition we’re really excited about,” says Paul Abling, marketing director at the Vail Valley Foundation, which produces the annual GoPro Mountain Games.

Additionally, Vibram will highlight its partnership with Girls on the Run by offering custom fit pairs of FiveFingers for a $25.00 donation. Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through running.

Lastly, Vibram will be the official footwear partner of the IFSC Bouldering World Cup presented by Chipotle as well as the lead sponsor of the demo climbing wall and dog park in the KIND Adventure Village.
