Durham, N.C. (May 12, 2016) Balega International, a leading performance sock brand in the run and outdoor specialty market, announces its ‘Your Dream Run’ sock design challenge exclusively for retailers. In addition to cash prizes, four lucky retail staff associates will have the opportunity to bring their sock creations to life by knitting, packing and selling their one-of-a-kind designs in local specialty stores. The contest opens for submissions May 16.

“We created this fun contest for our retail partners to creatively depict their running-specific stories and inspirations through a fun, engaging and visually-driven outlet,” explained Tanya Pictor, Vice President of Marketing at Implus Specialty Retail Brands. “We want to give the people who make Balega possible -- our passionate and loyal supporters -- a chance to get involved from the beginning and share their input on sock styles and designs.”

Beginning May 16, all U.S.-based Balega retailers will be eligible to hit the drawing board, showcasing their vision through their very own colorful and unique sock design. Contest submissions will be uploaded on an emailed link sent directly to retailers by Balega. Submissions will end June 6.

Voting will take place on Balega’s Facebook page, and the most popular designs with the greatest number of “likes” win. While submissions are open to retailers only, the voting rounds are open to all Balega fans and followers. Balega will award the four most unique designs with $600 cash prizes. Winners will be announced on Balega's social media channels on June 28. All four winning socks will be produced for sale in Balega retail stores, recognizing and honoring each creator and the story behind the chosen design.
