Dance in Unlikely Places is a small touring group based in Laramie, Wyoming. This year their tour, which is funded by The University of Wyoming’s Cultural Outreach Program, runs from May 16-19. The group which is made up of five dance majors from the University of Wyoming will be performing and teaching workshops at sixteen different locations across the state. The mission of “Dance in Unlikely Places” is expose various locations in Wyoming to collegiate level concert dance. “Dance in Unlikely Places” also seeks to expose its viewers to the beauty of Wyoming by inviting local community members to our performances and through documentation of performances. The show will run approximately thirty minutes and includes various genres of dance such as ballet, modern, jazz and musical theatre. The workshop’s will run approximately 45 minutes to an hour and are loosely based on a jazz class, they are open to all ages and skill levels. Please join us at the Riverton Historic Museum at 3:00pm on May 17th to experience dance like you have never seen it before!
