Plaid is the New Black: Plaid Friday promoted by MetroIBA and Zydeco Design

For the second year in a row, dozens of local, independent retailers will participate in an alternative campaign to Black Friday, known as Plaid Friday. Started five years ago in Oakland, California, Plaid Friday encourages consumers to put their holiday gift dollars back into their local economy by shopping at stores in their communities.
If you are a consumer, take the day after Thanksgiving to sleep in, wear plaid, and shop your heart out with your favorite local retailers. Post your plaid look and shopping finds at #PlaidFriday.
Local retailers are encouraged to participate by registering on the Plaid Friday website https://plaidfridaytwincities.wordpress.com/ Retailers are encouraged to have fun with Plaid Friday by sporting plaid, using plaid ribbons and gift tags, Plaid is the New Black stickers, and custom site events.
