YO-G.O.A.T launches in Ipswich, reinventing frozen yoghurt and açai with a fresh, self-serve concept

A bold new frozen dessert brand has landed in Ipswich, Queensland with local entrepreneur Charlie Sandhu launching YO-G.O.A.T, an innovative frozen yoghurt and açai concept designed to change how Australians enjoy their favourite sweet treat.

The name YO-G.O.A.T stands for ‘Greatest Of All Time’, a playful nod to the brand’s ambition to deliver the best frozen yoghurt and açai experience in Australia.

“We wanted a name that was fun, memorable and confident,” Sandhu said.

“YO-G.O.A.T reflects exactly what we’re aiming for, the greatest frozen yoghurt experience people can get.”

The first YO-G.O.A.T store has officially opened at Yamanto Central Shopping Centre, operating seven days a week from 9am to 10pm, making it a go-to destination for everything from a daytime treat to a late-night dessert.

Fresh, self-serve and made on site

YO-G.O.A.T offers a simple, interactive experience. Customers select their frozen yoghurt or açai, pour it themselves, then finish with their choice of toppings, paying $4.00 per 100 grams.

Toppings range from fresh fruit to sweets and indulgent extras, allowing customers to create exactly what they want.

All products are made fresh on site, ensuring quality, consistency and standout flavour.

Fan-favourite flavours already winning locals over

Some of YO-G.O.A.T’s ultra fan favourites include açai, mango, bubblegum, vanilla and biscotti caramel, with more flavours in development as the brand grows.

“Our focus is on flavour, freshness and fun,” Sandhu said.

“We want people to enjoy the experience as much as the product.”

A local idea with national ambitions

Sandhu, who lives locally in Ipswich, said the concept was inspired by his young daughters’ love of frozen yoghurt.

“I am your typical dad and I dote on my daughters.   They love frozen yoghurt so when they ask me can we go and get some, I always give in and say yes,” Sandhu said.

“I was having to drive almost two hours across Brisbane and back just to get them some frozen yoghurt and the yoghurt wasn’t that great it’s just that it was the only reasonable frozen yoghurt around.   I knew we could do better.”

Determined to do it differently, Sandhu researched premium recipes and industry-leading equipment before developing YO-G.O.A.T’s flavour range and self-serve model.

“I wanted to build something better than anything currently on offer in Australia.  I wanted to create something that would not only resonate with all Australians but that could be expanded across the world as well,” he said.

Rolling out across the country

The Ipswich store is the first of many, with four additional YO-G.O.A.T locations planned to open over the coming months as part of a national rollout.

“This is just the beginning,” Sandhu said.

“YO-G.O.A.T is built to scale and we’re excited to take the ‘greatest of all time’ frozen yoghurt experience across Australia.  We are the first and best frozen yoghurt offering in the region and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone across the country and the rest of the world.

“My daughters love it and that is important too.  No more long drives.  Now we can just drive down the road!”
