GAME ON: INAUGURAL CLICK FRENZY SPORTS TO LAUNCH AUGUST 20 WITH INCREDIBLE DEALS AND A ‘VIRTUAL CANTEEN’, BACKED BY COCA COLA, FOUR’N’TWENTY, 2XU AND THE NRL, TO BOOST COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUBS

Considering the 2020 Olympics, sporting community games and sporting events have largely been put on hold due to COVID-19, Australians are craving sports in their life once again, and what better way to reignite this passion then through an epic, online mega-sports-sale.

Australia’s iconic and much-loved online shopping event, is officially introducing a brand new event, Click Frenzy Sports. Launching on Thursday, August 20th, at 7pm, this new initiative is purely focused on lovers of sports gear, activewear, sneakers and team merchandise. In a first-ever, the event will run for four days, concluding on Sunday, August 23rd, at midnight.

With over 300+ deals, the event will feature a wide range of stunning online sports deals from major Australian and international brands, including Puma, New Balance, 2XU, Hype DC, The Athlete’s Foot, Running Bare, Running Warehouse Australia, Sportsmans Warehouse, Anaconda, Wilson, FILA, Sportitude, FitCover, Superga, Superdry, L’urv Sportswear, Zoggs Australia, NRL Shop, AFL Store, Richmond FC, Hawthorn FC, Canberra Raiders, Canterbury Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Play Rugby League Shop, NBA Store, NBL Shop, Skate Connection, Salamon, Suunto, Photobook Australia, Boardworld, Quadzilla Fitness, Swimwear Shack, Adonis Gear and more. Retailers will feature exclusive deals on some of the world’s biggest sporting brands including Nike, Adidas, ASICS, Brooks and loads more, as well as all the gear you need across every sport.

Not only will Click Frenzy Sports feature all the hallmarks of a Click Frenzy online mega-sale (hundreds of deals, massive savings, quality brands, the ticking clock and insane promotions), the sports event is dedicated to uniting sport and giving a major boost to struggling community clubs. With a recent report by the Australian Sports Foundation suggesting that as many as one in four clubs across Australia may not survive the pandemic, clubs are in desperate need of support.

Managing Director of Click Frenzy, Grant Arnott says, “Millions of Australians are connected to a sports club in some way, as an athlete, official, supporter or via family. The pandemic has ruined sport for 2020, and how many clubs can truly survive into 2021 is a serious concern. Therefore, we are officially introducing the first ever “Click Frenzy Virtual Canteen”, with every community sporting club in Australia invited to participate for free. We have been overwhelmed with the response to date, with over 200+ Australian clubs on board to date, and we’d love to welcome even more. To register interest, please visit www.clickfrenzy.com.au.”

Backed by Coca-Cola, Four'n Twenty and 2XU as partners, every club that registers will be given their own Virtual Canteen page, where members of the local community can buy a ‘virtual pie’, a ‘virtual sausage roll’, and certainly some ‘virtual vegie options’ as well. Proceeds from every virtual snack bought will go towards that community club, and Click Frenzy will be putting its substantial marketing engine behind promoting the initiative, with support from the Australian sporting industry, including Hockey NSW, the NRL, Netball Australia and AFL clubs.

Grant continues, “Sales of snacks at local games is one of the drivers of revenue for community sport, and that has been severely impacted this year. We’ve created the Virtual Canteen as a substitute, and based on our projections, we’re looking to generate millions in revenue to assist community sporting clubs across the nation. It’ll be Australia’s biggest ever Virtual Pie Night!”

Registered club, Macedon Cats Football & Netball Club, has commented on the difficulties they’ve faced due to the pandemic saying, “The challenge we have faced is not being able to engage with our community and fundraise on gameday, which is a major part of where a club like ours gets its financial support and the community can come together. The Macedon Cats brings so much joy and unity in our community, and an event like The Virtual Canteen is needed to help us stay on our feet.”

Supporter of the initiative, David Thompson, CEO of Hockey NSW says, “COVID-19 had an awful impact on our grassroots hockey community and many of our Clubs and Associations will really struggle this year with reduced participant numbers and cancelled competitions. Sport is such a critical part of our social fabric, and we’d love to see hockey clubs take up this opportunity but more importantly, see local communities get behind their local sporting clubs and for a few bucks on a virtual pie or two."

Here is just a sneak peak of what shoppers can expect on the night:
