Xstatic Sunsets secures Sydney Town Hall for their Wonderland Festival

After the challenges of COVID-19 and a wet winter, it’s been a test of resilience and creativity to push forward in pursuit of bringing the much-anticipated Xstatic Wonderland Festival to life as a fun, safe and inclusive after Covid festival to reconnect and activate the Sydney CBD.

Xstatic’s Wonderland Festival is proudly funded by the NSW Government as part of the CBDs Revitalisation Program and the City of Sydney.

After being postponed 6 times due to Covid and then the wet weather, Xstatic Wonderland Festival set to take place in Belmore Park has found a new home where the rain cannot stop play.

As one final twist to get to Wonderland, Xstatic Sunsets, is excited to announce the festival is confirmed to take place at the stunningly elegant Sydney Town Hall on 22 October 2022.

Xstatic Sunsets, famous for delivering truly epic themed dance party experiences inspiring costuming to let loose without alcohol, are excited to deliver their biggest and highest production event yet (with certainty!).  A landmark sober festival leading the way in the healthy party movement inviting people for a night off the booze to enjoy a great time without the hangover, supporting better mental health.

Member of the Legislative Council Chris Rath said: “The NSW Government’s $50 million CBDs Revitalisation Program is reigniting social connection and economic activity in urban centres across Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, through a range of arts, music, food and beverage and cultural events.”

24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues said: “The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner is committed to revitalising our key urban centres. After a tough time for hospitality, the arts and entertainment industries, this investment is helping business collaboration to encourage audience reconnection in urban environments, and in the process accelerating economic recovery,”

They will be transforming Sydney Town Hall to bring to life the whimsical tale of Alice in Wonderland with a rabbit hole experience, an array of Mad Hatters Tea Party settings, fun games, performers and all the theatrical characters you would hope to meet.   But this is just the beginning of this mad adventure down the rabbit hole.

The Mad Hatters Main stage will host an amazing line up of Sydney artists play the best dance music, from the likes of King Tide and True VibeNation playing Dub & Reggae to Krystle Diola bringing the funk and soul, to Lauren Neko playing the house classics and closing with Dave Winnel dropping the dance floor bangers.  With dance facilitations to get the party started and costume parades with prizes for best dressed is going to be mad!

The Mushroom stage taking over the Vestibule Hall will host an eclectic mix of acts, including comedians, poets, magicians, and musical acts.

The festival kicks off at 2pm with a Mad Hatters tea party with tasty treats before being welcomed on Gadigal land as Aboriginal dancers take us on a journey into the culture of how elders connected and celebrated life in harmony with nature.

Entertainment continues across both stages until the festival closes at 11pm in time for a good night's sleep.

This is a family friendly festival safe for all ages. Strictly alcohol free. Offering refreshing alcohol-free beers from James Squire and tasty alcohol free cocktails by Sydney based Seadrift Distillery, delivering a party experience without compromise. Rain or shine, walking or rolling, the entire event will also be accessible to those with mobility needs.

Festival tickets starting from $79 with a discount for kids under 15 years.
