Flight Stakes Racing News

  • Written by News Company

The Flight Stakes has been an integral part of the Australian racing circuit since 1947. Randwick Racecourse in Sydney welcomes punters every October for the annual event. The group one thoroughbred race takes place on a turf track. It’s run over 1,600 meters and is open to three-year-old fillies.

World-famous horses like More Joyous and Samantha Miss have won here in the past. Who will write their name into the history books and claim victory this time around? During this preview, we’ll provide you with the latest horse racing tips and news.

There are dozens of fantastic runners. For that reason, we’ll provide a combination of outright and each-way wagers. Our tips are based on the latest results and betting odds. Stay right here and we’ll share everything we know.

Flight Stakes Top Picks

Funstar - If you’re backing Funstar, take a few minutes to compare the odds. As things stand, she’s the current favourite. The filly has already won once at Randwick this year. She knows the track well, and her experience could pay dividends. James McDonald has sat in the saddle for the last two races. We’re expecting him to take the reins this time. Keep a close eye on the market and adjust your bets accordingly.

Probabeel - This horse’s odds don’t represent value for money. She’s the second favourite with certain bookmakers, but she’s yet to win a race. Funstar won by a nose when the two met at Randwick in September. This suggests that Probabeel can compete with the favourite. However, punters believe that she can pick up her first win here. Each-way wagers should be safe.

Flit - Flit has run four times for Godolphin Australia so far. She won at Flemington in March and picked up a couple of second-place finishes at Randwick. The potential is there for everyone to see. Her connections believe that she can get the job done. However, this is a competitive field. Flit’s high-odds mean that we should see plenty of each-way money.

Celestial Falls - Recent form suggests that Celestial Falls has a fantastic chance of being involved at the business end of this race. She won at Kensington in June and picked up another impressive win at Flemington in September. We love the look of this filly. She’s an excellent finisher and will stay on if she’s given the chance. Should compete for places.

Missile Mantra - Beau Mertens guided this horse to two victories at the start of the year. She was better than the rest of the field at Ballarat and Caulfield. However, she was disappointing at Flemington last time out. Missile Mantra is one of the most talented runners in this field, but she doesn’t always do herself justice. Having said that, if she gets a clear run, she could be involved at the finish line.

Subpoenaed - This filly is one of the most inexperienced horses in the field. She finished second to Miss Scorcher at Canterbury Park and was comprehensively beaten by Funstar at Randwick in September. She comes from good stock and is due a winning run. We’re playing it safe and placing small each-way wagers.
