Temporary movement for travel, pilgrimages, tourism, or the commute is also not referring to as migration, in the absence of an intention to live and settle in the visited places.

On the other hand, immigration refers to the international movement of persons to another country where they are not citizen or native to settle as permanent residents. Tourist, commuters, and other short-term visits in another country is excluded under the definition of immigration or migration; however, seasonal labour immigration is sometimes included.

Economic Effect of Immigration
