Best Disney Costume Ideas

When it comes to Disney costume ideas, you are spoilt for choice both for the kids and adults alike. There are villains, good guys, animals, princesses and princes, and the list goes on. If you are stumped for ideas, here are some of our favourite Disney costumes that may make the decision-making process a little easier.

Jasmine or Aladdin from Aladdin

The Aladdin movie is a Disney classic and the two main characters Aladdin and Jasmine, make great dress-up options. Jasmine has full and draping black hair paired with her signature flowing blue fit. This is a good option if the weather is warmer and you don't want something too hot or restricting.

Aladdin and his sidekick Abu, the monkey, along with the magic carpet are key characters in the movie. Like Jasmine, Aladdin is a good choice if you don't want something too hot – He only wears pants and an open vest.

Mickey and Minnie

The original and most classic Disney characters have to be Minnie and Mickey Mouse. You can go all out with a full fit for either of these two or keep it simple with some mickey mouse ears. There are distinctive and easily recognisable. You can make your own costume or there are plenty of great premade options, like at costume shop Gold Coast. As long as you have white, black and red, you're good to go.

Woody or Jessie from Toy Story

Who doesn't love the Toy Story movies? The awesome thing about these movies is that the first one come out in 1995, and then there was a small gap of four years before the second one was released. The third didn't come out until 2010, and the fourth in 2019. This means that people of all ages got to experience the magic that Toy Story is.

Woody is a favourite Disney Dress up for many, and so is Jessie. There is a Toy Story character for everyone in the family! Some people who have Dachshunds have even included them by dressing them up as Mr Slinky.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs means you can choose from 8 characters. The dwarfs are all unique characters with very different personality traits enabling you to find the perfect match for you.

Making your own Snow White costume may be tricky if you don't have any costume-making skills, luckily you can buy good quality versions premade to save you the hassle. It might even save you money too from having to buy all the different fabrics to make the costume from scratch.

Simba or Nala from The Lion King

The Lion King has to be up there with the top Disney movies ever made. Bring back nostalgic Hakuna Matata vibes with a Simba or Nala costume. Like all the costumes mentioned above, there are plenty of ready-made Lion King costumes available. Most of these feature velvety soft lion-like fabric and a hooded frilly mane. Alternatively, you can go for more of the musical kind of costumes which have African tribe influence, body painting and bold accessories. You are only limited by your imagination!
