There’s something truly special about living in an RV (or at least spending long vacations in one). The freedom, the adventure, the excitement—all of these things await you in your moving home. However, if you want to have a cozy, comfortable and safe stay in an RV, you need to make this vehicle your home away from home with a few gadgets, caravan supplies and accessories. Here’s a little RV accessory guide that will make your home on wheels truly special.

Mobile hotspot

Most of us can’t and don’t want to live without the Internet. We rely on it for work communication, entertainment, work and support, so make sure you have a stable connection wherever you go. Campground Wi-Fi can often be sketchy, but if you invest in your own mobile hotspot, you can always have access to reliable connection and stay connected. You might also want to combine it with a good cell signal booster, especially if you love to camp someplace remote.

GPS systems

Getting lost in not fun, so make sure you have a good GPS system. Your phone probably has GPS, but Garmin GPS system or any other similar model will be a much more practical way to find your way. The RV Trip Wizard app is also a great addition to your app collection since it provides you with all the RV-friendly routes and warns you of low-hanging bridges and other important safety issues you want to avoid.

Parking help

No matter how good of a driver you are, parking such a big vehicle is not a joke. However, there are gadgets that can help you park your RV without scratches and stabilize it perfectly. Grab a quality RV camera system with or without marker lights and you’ll get access to wide viewing angles, night vision, and motion detection. This will ensure you can keep eyes on what's going on around you at all times.

Additionally, stabilization while parking is crucial and your RV needs to be level and secure at all times. Get a couple of leveling blocks and stabilizing chocks which will ensure your vehicle won’t roll away and cause damage or hurt someone. These accessories will keep your wheels firmly locked.

Air compressor and jump starter

In case of a flat, you’ll be more than happy to have a portable air compressor. There are various great models on the market, just make sure to get one that plugs into a 12v port and provides enough pressure for your tires.

Before hitting the road, make sure to test your battery, but in case your battery still fails you, it’s important to have a way to start your RV. A jump starter gadget will come in very handy when you’re stranded, especially in a deserted place without helpful passersby. Grab a jump starter with enough battery power to get you going and you’ll be settled.

Portable fan and humidifier

Your rig will get hot, no matter if you have or don’t have air conditioning. One way to make your AC more effective is to set up a small fan and provide the space with air movement. A portable fan will also keep the air fresh inside without taking too much space. Opt for something cheap, strong and quiet, and you’ll be able to use it for many things from keeping cool to drying clothes and providing ventilation.

Additionally, your RV will get moist, and we all know that humidity can cause property damage and spark mold. To reduce the risk of water damage to your RV, invest in a small dehumidifier. This little guy can soak up all the moisture from the air, protect your property and improve air quality in your traveling home.

Instant pot

RV camping without an instant pot is a huge mistake! This kitchen accessory is perfect for all types of hungry travelers, since it can provide you with the ability to slow cook, pressure cook, steam, sauté and many other things. Additionally, they are small and affordable, which means you have no excuses not to grab one before your next RV adventure. If you feel like some honey garlic chicken with rice, beef stew or Kalua pig, it can all be flawlessly prepared in your instant pot.

These gadgets and accessories will not only make your adventure safer but also more comfortable and fun, so don’t hesitate to update your RV and provide your passengers and yourself with an unforgettable trip.
