What are the most beautiful places in Australia, where you can take amazing and mesmerizing photos? Australia is any photographer’s dream. The combination of unique natural sites, national parks, monuments of aboriginal culture, modern architectural pearls – the list of beautiful places in Australia is endless. Among them, there are natural and man-made objects that may be called symbols of the country and which will allow you to take beautiful pictures of Australia.

1. Elizabeth Quay Bridge, Perth

A beautiful bridge for pedestrians and cyclists has been recently built in the Australian city of Perth. The unique S-shaped structure made of steel and eucalyptus wood became a real decoration of the city, as well as a favorite place for a large number of photographers.

The 110-meter cable-stayed bridge has an S-shape, which is balanced by two 22-meter steel arches. The bridge deck is made of eucalyptus wood, which beautifully resonates with the shiny metal. The outline of Elizabeth Quay Bridge is slightly curved so that the ships while tacking could pass unhindered under the bridge.

To take gorgeous photos of Australia and this bridge, it is better to shoot in the evening or at night when special lighting makes its unique design even more interesting. In this case, pick different angles – photograph from the shore or stay at the beginning of the bridge.

Pictures taken with the help of a drone will also look impressive. In the world, there is a huge number of interesting bridges that photographers are fond of. Among them, by the way, is Brooklyn Bridge, which has been included on the list of the best places to take pictures in NYC.

2. Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania

Freycinet National Park is known for gorgeous mountains of pink color, white sandy beaches, isolated bays and many species of birds that inhabit the area. The park is located on the spectacular east coast of Tasmania, occupying the major part of the Freycinet Peninsula. On the park’s eastern side, there is the Tasman Sea and on the western side – the Tasmanian coastline.

The most picturesque sight of the Freycinet Peninsula is Wineglass Bay. Many photographers travel there to capture the beauty of crystal clear turquoise sea along with white sands. Moreover, Wineglass Bay is considered to be one of the best beaches worldwide.

You can choose to follow any trail, since there are many of them, of various complexity and length. It won’t be difficult to reach the viewpoint but we also recommend checking out the summit of Mt. Amos. It provides a wonderful 360-view of the peninsula.

To get a truly gorgeous picture of Australia and the peninsula, visit the place early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Do it to see how the light plays and emphasizes the contrasting colors and extends the shadows of the surrounding elements.

To eliminate glare, we suggest bringing a polarizer filter for a camera and a hooded wide-angle lens. Also, keep in mind more travel photography tips.

3. Twelve Apostles, Victoria

Among the most beautiful places in Australia, namely Great Ocean Road, we would like to mention the Twelve Apostles. It is an array of enormous limestone pillars that rise out of the Southern Ocean. However, now there are only eight pillars left, the ninth has fallen apart in July 2005.

If you decide to photograph this place, don’t take a regular picture from the viewing platform. Try to find an unusual perspective, for instance, from the beach at the foot of the cliff at twilight. Aside from the Twelve Apostles, focus on such interesting nearby locations as London Arch, Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto.

If you wait for 15 to 20 minutes, you will notice a great number of Fairy Penguins – the inhabitants of the Twelve Apostles. Don’t miss the chance of capturing them!

4. Loch Ard Gorge, Campbell, Australia

Walk to the west of the above-mentioned Twelve Apostles for several minutes and you will stumble across Loch Ard Gorge. It is sure to amaze you with the atmospheric coastal splendor. Feel free to wander around, explore the blowholes, very tall cliffs, limestone stacks that are far away from the shore. The site is worth visiting at twilight to see the short-tailed shearwaters (muttonbirds) return back home.

It is impossible to leave the Loch Ard Gorge without magnificent coastal Australia pics. Rock cliffs, captivating sea waves and intricate coastlines are worth to be photographed once again. We recommend bringing a wide-angle lens to photograph the beautiful scenery of the Loch Ard Gorge to the full extent.

Although the gorge looks amazing at any time of the day and year, we believe that the optimal period for shooting is the “Golden Hour”. To do this, we suggest using a special application called "Golden Hour", which is available for Android and iOS smartphones. Shooting the gorge at sunset is also possible, especially if you have a sturdy tripod, as it is often very windy there.

5. Marion Bay

Marion Bay is a small town in the Australian state of South Australia located at the southern border of the Yorke Peninsula. Beaches surround the town from every side. Also, Marion Bay serves as the gateway to the Innes National Park.

It is truly a hidden gem of the South and entire Australia. The Innes National Park, having an enormous territory, provides protection for the southern border of the Yorke Peninsula. The park boasts different variations of landscapes – from breathtaking cliffs to tranquil bays.

Endangered and rare bird species inhabit the Innes National Park. In case you are a bird-watching enthusiast, be prepared to see the unparalleled beauty of the osprey, the western whip bird and even a white-breasted sea eagle. Due to the winter rains, more than 100 bird species appear in the park in spring with the bloom of wildflowers. Therefore, if you want not only to take amazing landscape photos of Australia but also to spend time photo hunting, we advise you to choose a camera with the fast shutter speed and a large stock of frames for serial shooting.

As for the lens, it should have a focal length of at least 200-300 mm. This will enable you to take close-up photographs of small animals and birds from a large distance.

Originally known as the Sandgate pier, the Shorncliffe pier is the place that keeps attracting tourists and local residents to the suburb of Shorncliffe in Australia. With its snow-white wooden railings and colonial street lamps, this sight has become one of the most beautiful places in Australia. If you are not lazy to travel till the end of the pier, you will see a small shelter that has become the visiting card of this place.

Together with the Redcliffe peninsula, the Boondall Wetlands, Moreton Bay Islands and the Shorncliffe cliffs, this pier is a perfect place to photograph in Australia.

To get fantastic photos of Australia, we recommend coming here during sunrise or sunset hours. Moreover, you may capture the full Moon over Morton Bay.
