Finalists announced for Victorian LGBTQI+ Business Awards

Enabling Victoria’s LGBTQI+ professionals and small business owners to thrive

 

GLOBE (the Gay & Lesbian Organisation of Business & Enterprise) has announced the finalists for their annual LGBTQI+ business awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in the Victorian community.

 

The sixth annual GLOBE Community Awards ceremony, held in Melbourne on 11 October, showcases contributions to the LGBTQI+ community from a diverse range of organisations across eleven categories. Awards include: ANZ Excellence in Small Business, A Healthy Community, Artist Of The Year, Connecting the LGBTQI+ Community, LGBTQI+ Person of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Artist of the Year, Media Excellence, Protecting Our Community, Straight Ally of the Year and Volunteer Of the Year. 

 

GLOBE President, Dan de Rochefort, said: “The LGBTQI+ community continues to grow and prosper thanks to the tireless efforts of many who sacrifice their time to provide support, care for others, challenge the status quo and foster inclusivity. GLOBE is a not-for-profit community group that aims to unite Victorian and Australian LGBTQI+ groups and their supporters while encouraging diversity and inclusiveness through social, professional and community events. GLOBE endeavours to create business, professional and social environments where members of the LGBTQI+ community can thrive and realise their full potential.



The 2018 GLOBE Victorian LGBTQI+ Person of the Year was awarded to Jeremy Wiggins, co-chair of the trans masculine sexual health advocacy group, PASH.tm. He has a unique and long standing career and passionately advocates for the LGBTQI+ community. Jeremy has been announced as a judge for this year’s awards and is joined by Chyloe Kurdas, Farrah Tomazin, Leonard Vary, Matt Buck and Sally Goldner, all remarkable LGBTQI+ advocates who contribute significantly to the community within sport, media, business, health and art.

 

The 2019 GLOBE Community Awards will be held on 11 October 2019 in Melbourne and are presented in partnership with the Victorian State Government with support from a number of commercial sponsors. Christopher Greening new manager Little Albion, a Crystalbrook Collection Boutique Hotel

Australian hospitality company, Crystalbrook Collection, is pleased to welcome Christopher Greening as the new General Manager of its boutique Surry Hills hotel, Little Albion, a Crystalbrook Collection Boutique Hotel.

 

Chris joins Crystalbrook Collection following an extensive career in hospitality spanning more than a decade. Most recently, Chris was Executive Assistant Manager for Meriton Suites where he pre-opened two hotels. He has also held senior positions with One&Only Collection, Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley and Hayman Island Resort.

 

Crystalbrook Collection Interim CEO and Group Director, Hotels, Geoff York said: “Chris is an accomplished hotelier with extensive experience operating fantastic luxury properties. His knowledge will be put to excellent use ensuring Little Albion is seen as one of Sydney’s finest boutique hotels.”
