Midea Energy subsidiary presented utility-scale, C&I and residential BESS in Melbourne and received an AS/NZS 3000 conformity report for its Aqua-C series.

MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- CLOU Electronics

(SZ: 002121), a global energy storage systems manufacturer and subsidiary of Midea Energy, showcased its battery energy storage portfolio at All Energy Australia 2026, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 28–29 October (Stand SS101). The portfolio spans utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. CLOU also used the exhibition to seek distribution, EPC and developer partnerships across Australia and the wider Oceania region.

Australia's 2026 Integrated System Plan highlights the need for significant new storage capacity, including four-to-twelve-hour solutions to support grid reliability. The country's high adoption of rooftop solar is also creating opportunities for residential storage.

Against this backdrop, CLOU drew on its experience in energy storage system development, integration and project deployment to address Australia's evolving energy needs. "Australia's energy transition represents a significant opportunity, and CLOU is here to be a reliable part of it," said Anthony Wang, Director of Product Management at CLOU. "Our portfolio spans utility-scale, C&I and residential storage, and we are ready to work closely with local partners to deliver solutions matched to the real needs of Australia's grid and energy users."

Proven Technology, Global Track Record

CLOU brought to All Energy Australia a global track record of more than 23 GWh in contracted and delivered energy storage systems across more than 100 countries, including over 13 GWh deployed outside China. The company holds BloombergNEF Tier 1 status in both the energy storage system and PCS/inverter manufacturing categories. Its credentials also include a DNV Technology Review Report for its flagship utility-scale system and DEKRA MTBF certification.

CLOU's Aqua-C series containerised energy storage products received an AS/NZS 3000 conformity report from TÜV Rheinland during the exhibition. AS/NZS 3000, known as the Wiring Rules, sets requirements for the design, installation and verification of electrical installations in Australia and New Zealand. For project developers, owners and EPC partners, the report provides a third-party technical reference for electrical safety assessment, installation planning and project delivery.

As Australia moves towards larger-scale and longer-duration energy storage, CLOU showcased an integrated portfolio covering both DC- and AC-side solutions. Its in-house capabilities span power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), energy management systems (EMS) and system integration. Together, these capabilities support coordination between battery systems and AC-side controls, as well as project-specific grid connection and integration requirements.

A key utility-scale solution in the portfolio is the Aqua-C2.5H, a 5 MWh liquid-cooled battery energy storage system. As of September 2026, cumulative global shipments of the Aqua-C2.5H series had reached 12 GWh. CLOU's bionic liquid cooling system is designed to keep inter-cell temperature variance within 2°C, while active cell balancing helps extend cycle life and preserve capacity over time. The system is available as a standalone DC battery container or as part of an integrated AC solution combining BESS, PCS and EMS in a single pre-commissioned package.

The Aqua-C3.0 complements the C2.5H with a next-generation utility-scale design featuring 587 Ah LFP cells and 6.25 MWh per unit, delivering approximately 25% more energy per footprint.

CLOU also showcased the Aqua-C3.0 Ultra, a liquid-cooled energy storage system designed to combine high energy density with a lightweight form. Housed in a 13-foot enclosure, it delivers 5.154 MWh per unit and weighs less than 39 tonnes. Its compact design can help reduce shipping and logistics costs, land requirements and civil works, while simplifying on-site installation.

For commercial and industrial applications, the Aqua-E261 and Aqua-X261 series provide 261 kWh per unit in a modular architecture. The systems can be deployed across a range of settings, including mining microgrids, industrial parks, commercial buildings and integrated solar-storage-charging sites.

CLOU's project experience also includes deployments in challenging environments relevant to some Australian applications. In Argentina's Catamarca province, the company delivered storage solutions for lithium mining operations at an altitude of 4,100 metres. In Chile's Atacama Desert, CLOU systems operated for more than 900 days without reported faults. The Aqua-C2.5H has also undergone seismic qualification in accordance with IEEE 693 high-seismic requirements and obtained UL 9540 energy storage system safety certification. These examples offer relevant experience for utility-scale, mining and remote-site projects, where altitude, heat and limited access can present additional operating challenges.

CLOU has annual BESS production capacity of 20 GWh at its Yichun facility. The company is also expanding its international manufacturing footprint in phases in Indonesia, with long-term capacity targeted at 18 GWh.
