RAAF C 17 Aircraft fly low over Northern NSW and Gold Coast

  • Written by Greg Rogers

7 May 2016. Two RAAF C 17 Heavy lift aircraft from Amberley flew low level along the beach between Hastings Point near Byron Bay to Noosa yesterday. The RAAF had advised local papers and media outlets of the proposed flights and as a result, there were many people in position along the beach ready to see two very large aircraft at low level just off the shoreline.

The aircraft from Amberley Airbase near Brisbane, are from 36 Squadron which regularly has flights with personnel and equipment on board to destinations like Japan for relief work or Afghanistan for military resupply.

The aircraft spotters were grateful that the RAAF had let people know in advance when the aircraft would fly past their nearest vantage point. Watch on you tube below or watch or download copyright FREE full size 400 MB iPhone file here http://www.viw.com.au/IMG_0474.MOV
