RELEASING IN AMC THEATERS ON NOVEMBER 13, 2015

LOS ANGELES (November 9, 2015) – Creative couple RENEE DORIAN and BEN BEGLEY are dead serious about the new horror-comedy, THE FUNHOUSE MASSACRE, a film they co-wrote and star in alongside genre veteran Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise). The film is being released through AMC Independent and is set to premiere in AMC theaters on Friday, November 13th.

Inspired by 80s slasher films, THE FUNHOUSE MASSACRE is about six psychopaths who escape a nearby asylum, sneak into a murder-themed carnival funhouse and start racking up a body count. Dorian emerges as ‘Laurie’, a soft-spoken girl who learns to fight back against the deranged killers; and Begley delivers as the clueless but well-intentioned ‘Deputy Doyle’ who has to figure out how to save the day.

The hilarious blood bath also stars Chasty Ballesteros (Final Destination 5, The Internship), Jere Burns (Justified, Dear John), Scottie Thompson (Skyline, NCIS), Courtney Gains (Back to the Future, Halloween), veteran character actor Clint Howard (Halloween, How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and Erick Chavarria (East Bound & Down, Get Hard). The film comes from director Andy Palmer and producer Warner Davis’ independent production company Petri Entertainment, and special makeup effects icon Robert Kurtzman.

Dorian and Begley decided during their honeymoon to find a way to bring their script to the big screen. Dorian adds, “It’s been a passion project from start to finish and we couldn’t be more proud of the work everyone put in during all those long night shoots. We were especially honored to work with horror legend Robert Englund and think fans will be thrilled.”

Although the film marks a first for the couple as writer-creators in the horror genre, audiences will recognize each of them from their acting work. Dorian has appeared on several popular television shows, including Blackish, Scandal and 90210; and in the feature films Awaken, The Mangler Reborn and Stupid Teenagers Must Die. Dorian currently stars in a live murder mystery show in Hollywood at The Next Door Lounge.

Begley was most recently seen in the pilot episode of the new CBS hit show, Supergirl. His credits also include numerous network television appearances such as The Crazy Ones, NCIS: LA, The Mentalist, Happy Endings and Raising Hope; along with feature films including the comedy, The Hungover Games.

Up next, this dynamic duo is working on a top-secret horror script that fans of The Funhouse Massacre will be excited about.

Renee Dorian is represented by Adam Trahan at Silver Fox Entertainment.

Ben Begley is represented by Jerrold Rhee at Bohemia Group.
