- Written by Pitch Engine
Denver School of Nursing (DSN) and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) have fully executed an articulation agreement in which any graduates of the 13 CCCS institutions with an Associate of Nursing Degree (ADN) are eligible for admission to DSN’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN program option) distance education degree program, said Dr. Marcia Bankirer, DSN president (www.denverschoolofnursing.edu).
“DSN offers its RN to BSN program in a distance education format to meet the needs of a diverse, geographically-dispersed student population,” Bankirer said. “DSN and CCCS support the goal of furthering the education of nurses in healthcare facilities and removing barriers to nurses progressing in their degree attainment. DSN is committed to working collaboratively with CCCS to create a more highly qualified nursing workforce since education enhances both clinical competency and care delivery.”
“We are pleased to partner with Denver School of Nursing to provide this opportunity to pursue a BSN degree to our nursing graduates,” said Nancy J. McCallin, Ph.D., president, CCCS. “We very much like how this transfer opportunity will enable our graduates to advance their career opportunities from anywhere while further strengthening Colorado healthcare.” She added that getting a baccalaureate credential will open up a greater variety of nursing positions to CCCS graduates.
