Glenwood Springs scored a fifth place finish in Outside magazine’s contest to identify the 16 Best Places to Live in America! (Although locals will tell anyone who asks, that Glenwood Springs gets the number one ranking as their top town.In May, Outside Magazine preselected 64 towns across the country based on places with great access to trails and public lands, thriving restaurants and neighborhoods, and, of course, a good beer scene. Glenwood Springs was a shoe-in for the contest with miles of scenic hiking and biking trails; the White River National Forest at its doorstep; and a flourishing downtown dining scene with a hoppin’ local brewery. Hot springs amenities and outdoor adventures that include thrill rides, rafting, and winter sports rounded out Glenwood’s appeal. After choosing the towns for the competition, Outside left it up to enthusiastic fans to vote for their favorite towns. Based on votes, Glenwood Springs finished in the top third, with a fifth place ranking that launched it into the top 16 towns to be featured in Outside online and in the September issue of Outside magazine. “As Glenwood Springs locals, we are keenly aware of the fact that we live in a very special place, and it seems the word is out,” said Lisa Langer, vice president of Tourism Marketing for Glenwood Springs. “We are thrilled and honored to be named one of Outside’s Best Places to Live in America.” Find out more about what makes Glenwood Springs one of the Best Places to Live (and visit) at www.visitglenwood.com.
