Free Community Picnic Carnival Set for Sunday, Sept. 13

GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN. – School is back in session, fall is just around the corner—it’s time to celebrate a great summer and the start of a new season! In that spirit, Calvary Lutheran Church invites the public to its free Community Picnic & Carnival on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minn.

The carnival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Calvary Park, which is located on the north side of the church grounds. A free picnic lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Carnival activities will include inflatables, balloon art, face painting, kid’s crafts, a rock-climbing wall, 9-Square-in-the-Air and a photo booth. Live music and a Golden Valley fire truck will also be on site.

Each free picnic lunch will consist of a hot dog, sides, dessert and beverage. Free popcorn, cookies and coffee will be available throughout the time of the carnival; in addition, mini donut and ice cream vendors will have items for purchase.

Overflow parking will be located at the Valley Square lot off Rhode Island Ave. and Country Club Drive in Golden Valley. Shuttle service will be offered between Calvary and Valley Square from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
