WILEY X RECEIVES APEL APPROVAL FOR ITS STATE-OF-THE-ART WX VAPOR, WX VALOR, NERVE, TALON ADVANCED AND SPEAR VISION PROTECTION

Ability to Provide Superior Vision, Maximum Eye Protection and Performance Under Fire Earns Five Wiley X Models U.S. Army Authorized Product Eyewear List Status 

Protective eyewear innovator Wiley X®, Inc. has received APEL (U.S. Army Authorized Product Eyewear List) approval for five of its popular and proven vision protection systems — the WX Vapor, WX Valor, Talon Advanced, Nerve and Spear. 

These APEL approved Wiley X eyewear products are currently available through GSA as well as the NSN supply system.  Models include the Tactical Changeable Series WX Vapor, WX Valor and Talon Advanced, providing the unique ability to switch lenses as dictated by changing conditions and tactical conditions. The new WX Vapor features shatterproof Selenite polycarbonate lenses that meet or exceed MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) ballistic standards for spectacles and goggles.  The WX Valor also meets or exceeds MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) ballistic standards. The American-made Talon Advanced features a split lens design for unmatched vision and peripheral protection, and also meets or exceeds MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) ballistic standards. 

Two APEL-approved goggle-style glasses are also available from Wiley X — the Nerve and Spear.  The Nerve is a near pocket-sized low-profile tactical goggle that meets VO Ballistic Impact Test MIL-V-43511C, combining advanced protection with excellent portability.  The Nerve is designed to fit both men and women, providing unmatched field of vision thanks to its Spheric™ lens design. 

A new symmetrical venting system kelps keep the lens fog-free. The Nerve also accommodates an Rx Plug-in for prescription eyewear. 

The American-made, multi-function Spear goggle meets or exceeds the MIL-PRF-32432 (GL) ballistic standards as well, while its 2.5mm lens provides 100% UV protection.  Wiley X’s Top Down ventilation helps keep the wearer’s eyes cool and the lens fog-free, even in the heat of battle.  The Spear can be used with an Rx Insert capable of accommodating corrective lenses from -11 to +11. Both of these goggles are NVG compatible and are available with laser protective lenses.  In addition, The WX Vapor, WX Talon and WX Spear are each UPLC (Universal Prescription Lens Compatible).
