Heckert wins NASCAR East race at Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 10, 2015) – Scott Heckert led the final 22 laps and won the Bully Hill Vineyards 125 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Watkins Glen International.       The win was Heckert’s fourth in Series competition and his third on a road course.      Heckert and every other starter in the 51-lap chase around the famed Watkins Glen track raced on Goodyear Eagle bias-ply tires. The Watkins Glenn tire combination is the same used by K&N Pro Series West and Canadian Tire Series competitors at their road racing venues. The teams at Watkins Glen went the race distance on one set of Eagles.      Heckert averaged 69.214 mph for the race. He took the lead from J.J. Haley on the 29th circuit of the race and stayed in front the rest of the way. Dalton Sargeant finished second, followed by Haley, Dylan Lupton and Cole Custer. Heckert’s margin of victory was 1.506 seconds.      Custer started on the pole after posting a lap averaging 120.536 mph during qualifying.      William Byron leads the championship standings with 399 points. Heckert is next with 385.     Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
