Tire Codes: Left-side -- D-4650; Right-side -- D-4476
Tire Circumference: Left-side -- 87.56 in. (2,224 mm); Right-side -- 88.35 in. (2,244 mm)
Minimum Recommended Inflation: Left Front -- 20 psi; Left Rear – 20 psi;
Right Front -- 42 psi; Right Rear -- 38 psi
Notes: Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same tire codes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this week . . . these teams have run this right-side tire code (D-4476) at IMS since 2012 . . . this is a brand new left-side tire code (D-4650) . . . compared to what was run at Indianapolis last year, this left-side features compound and construction changes that will give the cars more grip . . . this tire set-up came out of a Goodyear test at The Brickyard on April 27-28 . . . drivers taking part part in that test were Jeff Gordon, Sam Hornish, Martin Truex Jr., and J.J. Yeley . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams will run inner liners in all four tire positions at Indianapolis . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
