“JOE DIRT 2: BEAUTIFUL LOSER,” “DARK PLACES,”

“THE RUNNER” and “AMERICAN ULTRA”

LOS ANGELES (July 22, 2015) – It’s a busy summer for successful character actor JAMES MOSES BLACK who shines alongside some of Hollywood’s heavy-weights in four new feature films, including JOE DIRT 2: BEAUTIFUL LOSER, DARK PLACES, THE RUNNER, and AMERICAN ULTRA.
Available now online from Crackle, Black joins returning cast members David Spade, Christopher Walken and Brittany Daniel for the redneck hero sequel, JOE DIRT 2: BEAUTIFUL LOSER. Black appears as the ‘Bubba Gump’ character, after Joe (Spade) is transported to the past during his epic journey to get back to the present.
Black also has not one, but two films releasing in theaters on August 7th. First, Black turns detective in the new Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) adaptation, DARK PLACES, starring Charlize Theron. As a Kill Club Solver, Black is part of a group uncovering evidence to solve notorious crimes and save the falsely accused, including Theron’s brother (Corey Stoll).
In addition, Black steps in as Dr. Haleman in Austin Stark’s new drama, THE RUNNER, about the aftermath of the Bp oil spill. Black is tasked with delivering news to New Orleans politician Colin Price (Nicholas Cage) about the condition of his estranged father (Peter Fonda).
Then on August 21st, Lionsgate releases the action-comedy AMERICAN ULTRA, starring Jesse Eisenberg as a stoner “sleeper” government operative targeted for extermination. Black is enlisted as a Sergeant joining Topher Grace on the team assigned to track and kill the rogue agent.

Black is excited by the opportunity to work on all these films, adding “Acting is not hard. It’s the biggest playground I’ve ever been a part of. What’s challenging is NOT acting.”

Upcoming, Black has roles in several films currently in-production, including MIDNIGHT SPECIAL starring Michael Shannon and Kristen Dunst; and CARTER & JUNE starring Michael Raymond-James and Samaire Armstrong.

Fans will recognize Black from his numerous film and television roles. Most recently, he emerged in the mega-hit action-thriller TERMINATOR GENISYS, the Will Farrell and Kevin Hart comedy GET HARD, and the action-drama sequel BAD ASS 3: BAD ASSES ON THE BAYOU. On the small screen, Black is fresh off appearances on the new CBS drama series ZOO, and the networks popular crime-drama, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS.

Black is not only an actor, but also a creator, singer, comedian, and man of many talents. He has performed stand-up at top comedy clubs around the country, including Knuckleheads, Scott Hanson Comedy Stop, Andrew Fords Comedy store and Ha Ha in Los Angeles. He is currently writing a screenplay about integration in the 1950’s Las Vegas hotel and casino scene; and he is finishing up a book about his experience with his mother’s breast cancer.

James Moses Black is represented by Aqua Talent Agency and Open Range Management.
