Hedgepeth, Heredia Rieder Taps Aliste Harris as Associate

ATLANTA, April 28, 2016 – Family law firm Hedgepeth, Heredia & Rieder (www.hhrfamilylaw.com) today announced that Aliste Harris has joined the firm as an associate.

“Aliste has impressive depth of legal experience, including a stint as a clerk at The White House,” said HHR managing partner Hannibal Heredia. “Her expertise in family law makes her a valuable addition to the HHR team.”

Harris is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the National Bar Association. She is also a member of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and is a 2012 graduate of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys’ Professional Development Academy.

Prior to joining HHR, Harris served as a law clerk at Smith & Lake, LLC, as an associate attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center, and as a law clerk at The White House. She also worked as a staff attorney at King & Spalding, LLP, as a summer associate for Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP, and as a judicial intern for the Chambers of the Honorable James A. Wynn, Jr. of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Harris graduated cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she served as a Senior Editor on the North Carolina Central Law Review and on the Dean’s List. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Spelman College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Kennesaw State University.

She is actively involved in the DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where she serves as a Guardian ad Litem and volunteer attorney for domestic relations cases. She also serves as a mentor at the Spelman College Alumnae-Student Mentoring Program and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Originally from Virginia, Harris currently lives in the Candler Park neighborhood of Atlanta.
