ALL-NEW EPISODE SET TO AIR ON APRIL 8, 2016

LOS ANGELES (March 30, 2016) – Actress ELIZABETH BRAUN will appear in an all-new episode of The CW’s wildly-popular supernatural drama series, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, on Friday, April 8th.
The Vampire Diaries takes place in Mystic Falls, Virginia, a fictional small town haunted and surrounded by supernatural beings such as vampires, werewolves and witches. Season seven finds those closest to Elena Gilbert striving to redefine themselves in the wake of losing her. Vampire brothers Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) are at odds with one another while future flash-forwards offer glimpses of a horrific supernatural threat with profound consequences for Mystic Falls. Braun joins this bloody-thirsty tale in the upcoming episode, “I Went to the Woods”.

Developed by Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson, the series is based on the popular book series of the same name written by L. J. Smith.

Braun was excited to work on the mega-hit show, adding “I jumped at the opportunity to work directly with Julie Plec. I was thrilled to dive into her world and be a part of the show she created first hand - especially since she also wrote this episode. Julie was a great director. She was really specific and I enjoyed collaborating with her. She's a lot of fun to work with.”

Most notably, Braun delivered her combination of sharp wit with a sweet smile in Lifetime’s musical comedy movie, Holiday High School Reunion. Her dynamic singing abilities landed her lead vocals for the theme song to Halllmark’s remake of the beloved 80’s animated series, Rainbow Brite. Braun’s credits also include appearances on NBC’s Prime Suspect, CBS’s CSI: NY, and several indie comedy films.

A Dallas, Texas native, Braun first uncovered her passion for performing while attending Richardson High School. She then made her way to Los Angeles to study at the University of Southern California, where she earned degrees in Theater Acting and Communications in the Entertainment Industry. Since graduating, she trained in London at the renowned acting conservatory BADA and with respected coach Howard Fine in Los Angeles. In addition, she sharpened her improv comedy chops at the famed The Second City and UCB.

Elizabeth Braun is represented by The Glick Agency.
