VERNON HILLS, Ill. (Feb 23, 2016) — High Sierra is drawing on the creative minds of consumers across the country by throwing open the doors to its design process and open-sourcing the next hot pattern on its backpacks. The High Sierra Design-A-Pack contest runs Feb 17- March 20 and the winner will receive a $500 High Sierra shopping spree.

“Our fans are always clamoring to get their hands on the latest High Sierra backpack pattern so we want to use our Emmett backpack as a blank canvas for a design of their own,” says Rachel Spencer, senior communications specialist for High Sierra. “High Sierra prides itself on the ability to create thoughtfully designed pieces, and we’re looking to our audience to add that extra flair to the pack.”

Beginning Feb 17, consumers can enter the competition by visiting the Design-A-Pack landing page, where they can download the design template, create an original 8x8 design and submit the design as an attachment. Submissions will be accepted until March 20.

The public will then be able to vote for their favorite design on Instagram from March 21-April 4 and a final winner will be chosen on April 5. Be sure to follow High Sierra, @highsierra_usa, to cast your vote.

“We look forward to seeing designs as diverse as the High Sierra audience itself— from the outdoor adventurer to the city commuter, the hardworking student and the parent with kids at home. Who knows what the winning design will hold.” says Spencer.
