Broomfield, Colo. (February 23, 2016) – Employees of the eight Any Mountain stores in Concord, Corte Madera, Dublin, Fremont, Redwood City, San Jose, Roseville and North Lake Tahoe raised a record-breaking $21,000 for Big City Mountaineers (BCM) during its 18th annual EpicPromise Holiday Giving Campaign during the 2015 holiday season. The generosity of local shoppers whose every dollar was matched by Vail Resorts with a 50-cent contribution up to $100 resulted in a total of more than $31,000—a figure that surpassed Any Mountain’s goal by more than $10,000.

Any Mountain is the premier retailer for ski, snowboard, bike and outdoor gear in the Bay Area while BCM has provided outdoor experiences and adventures to more than 7,300 kids in the Bay Area and across the United States since its inception in 1990. Any Mountain’s sizable contribution will allow the non-profit to reach a wider audience, and provide more outdoor learning adventures to youth in more regions in the U.S. This is the tenth year that Any Mountain has chosen BCM as the recipient of their annual holiday campaign and the donation allows BCM to provide under-served youth with exposure to outdoor adventures and mentorship experiences to develop and strengthen life and leadership skills via wilderness trips in the Sierras.

“These funds will grant dozens of youth across the greater Bay Area with the opportunity to partake in wilderness experiences that will have a powerful impact on their lives,” says Bryan Martin, Big City Mountaineers Executive Director. “Our trips help youth build self-confidence, discover leadership skills and improve upon their teamwork abilities. The success stories are incredible; these kids are more likely to stay in school and are less likely to turn to violence and drug use.”

The overall EpicPromise Holiday Giving Campaign raised a record-breaking $275,277 among the more than 190 Vail Resort Retail locations in California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and the Midwest. A total of $184,533 was collected from holiday shoppers for 17 nationwide nonprofit organizations and Vail Resorts contributed an additional $90.724.

“The incredible generosity of partners like Any Mountain and Vail Resorts makes it possible for us to make an even greater impact on communities in Northern California and elsewhere across the U.S,” says Martin.
