Teton Gravity Research Cleans-up at the 16th Annual Powder Awards

As Angel Collinson reached the stage to accept her third award of the night, the crowed was on their feet chanting, “Angel…Angel…Angel…”
JACKSON, Wyo. (Dec 7, 2015) Last Friday night in downtown Salt Lake City, The Depot played host to a momentous occasion; It was the first time a female had won the prestigious Best Line award at Powder Magazine’s Powder Awards. The annual awards are the longest running celebration of skiers, cinematographers and photographers. Teton Gravity Research (TGR) was honored take home eight Powder Awards in total.
In the footsteps of last year’s Movie of the Year win, TGR was again flattered to accept the esteemed award for Movie of the Year, in addition to winning Best Documentary with the film “For Lack of Better”. For Lack of Better showcases, a “full throttle” performance by Cam Riley in riveting story about urban street skiing. Directed by athlete Clayton Vila, and produced by TGR, this film should not be missed. “[The film] took an extra level of explanation and added it to a documentary style feature to really show the world what we do”, explains Vila.
“No better way to celebrate twenty years of film making and TGR’s support of the world’s best athletes, than to be affiliated with eight of the most prestigious recognitions presented at the Powder Awards”, says TGR co-founder Todd Jones. “To quote friend and inspiration, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa: ‘We love skiing.
