Washington Property Company (WPC) has topped out construction of its latest upscale apartment development, Solaire Bethesda. Strategically located at the corner of Wisconsin and Woodmont Avenues in Bethesda, MD, Solaire’s 139 luxury rental apartments will start delivering in June 2016. True Food Kitchen, which will offer sophisticated healthy dining in Solaire’s 6,400 square foot street-level retail space, is expected to open in fall of 2016.

Solaire Bethesda is WPC’s third Solaire-branded luxury apartment community, following the 2012 opening of Solaire Silver Spring and the early 2014 opening of Solaire Wheaton. These distinct properties, totaling nearly 700 units, combine the finest amenities and unit finishes with close proximity to Metrorail’s Red Line in Montgomery County. Solaire Bethesda, located at 7100 Wisconsin Avenue, is just 800 feet from the planned southern entrance to the Bethesda Metro station and Purple Line light rail station, and is just steps from the popular shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues of Bethesda Row.

A few miles north of Solaire Bethesda, WPC has started construction to convert a three-story, 83,592 SF office building to a CubeSmart self-storage facility. Situated on heavily traveled I-270, 4 Research Place was acquired by WPC in 2006. CubeSmart will offer 715 storage units of varying sizes, all accessible from interior conditioned space.

“Due to expiring Federal leases and a lack of business growth, many suburban office buildings in Montgomery County and other locations are being converted to other uses,” said Charles K. Nulsen, III, WPC President. “In fact, the area’s empty-nesters should consider storing their excess household goods at 270 Storage and moving into Solaire Bethesda, where they can enjoy a carefree, luxurious lifestyle in a walkable, highly amenitized, transit-friendly community.”

Washington Property Company is a full-service commercial real estate company located in Bethesda, Maryland. Established by Charles K. Nulsen, III, WPC is involved in a full range of real estate investment services including acquisition, land use, development, property management, leasing, and construction management. WPC has developed more than eight million square feet of commercial space in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and currently has over 1.6 million residential square feet under development. WPC is actively pursuing office, multi-family, retail, and mixed-use development opportunities throughout the region. Through its management company, WPC Management, LLC, Washington Property Company manages over 1.8 million square feet of commercial space.
