SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (Dec 3, 2015) — Lifestyle is the focus for Fall 2016 as Gregory diversifies its product offerings with three new lifestyle lines, the Avenues collection, the Explore collection and a redesigned Sunbird vintage collection. These stylish additions reinforce Gregory's commitment to high quality, carefully-crafted bag design.

Founded in 1977, Gregory has built a reputation in the performance and lifestyle backpack market. The iconic Baltoro and Deva packs remain the gold standard for backpacking and through-hiking, and their Classic Series collection remains an influential outdoor lifestyle collection throughout Asia. For Fall 2016 the brand continues to deploy the same brand philosophy and design principles to develop three new lifestyle collections with a focus on North American distribution.

“Over the course of the past 38 years, Gregory has established a legacy for crafting some of the best-fitting packs and bags on the market,” says John Sears, Vice President of Design & Development at Gregory. “We took all of the essential elements of quality, comfort and composition that Gregory is committed to, and created designs with a fresh, fun and thoughtful perspective for people whose priority is being outside - whether it be biking to work, weekend camping, or a casual hike.”

Named for the Avenues neighborhood on the north side of downtown Salt Lake City, which offers close proximity to the trails of the Wasatch Mountains, the Avenues collection was designed to transition customers from their urban commute to a sunset ride home on the trail. Highlighted by the mid-sized Pierpont, the collection includes three bags ranging from the smaller Millcreek to the larger I-Street. All models are built from high-end TPU coated textiles with water resistant construction, dedicated laptop sleeves, water-resistant zippers and electronics protection. The packs will retail for $99, $129 and $149.

The Explore collection is a nod to some of America’s most revered explorers drawing from names like John Wesley Powell, Fanny Bullock Workman and John Muir.  The packs range in size from 19L to 29L with accompanying prices of $99 to $169.  The Explore collection features timeless teardrop silhouettes, ultra-cush backpanels, dedicated laptop and tablet compartments, electronics protection, water-resistant pockets and bottom panel construction. The combination of classic outdoor style with modern features and active lifestyle convenience, makes the Explore collection a unique and stylish solution for weekday and weekend use.

Finally, the Sunbird collection — a heritage line based on founder Wayne Gregory’s first pack brand, Sunbird—  has been updated with two new bags: the Tahquitz Day and the Stinson day. The Sunbird collection has a vintage look, inspired by some of Gregory’s first bags in the 1970’s. The collection is elevated through the use of premium polyester canvas, quilted paneling and laptop sleeves in all models. Available in three colors for Fall 2016, the packs range in price from $79 to $109.

The full line of Gregory’s Fall 2016 products will be on display at the 2016 OR Winter Market at Gregory booth #5037 in the Salt Palace Convention Center.  To make a media appointment, please contact Cory Lowe at cory.lowe@backbonemedia.net.
