Busy mum develops ‘Tinder for beauty’ App to put beauty services at your fingertips

  • Written by: Tess Sanders Lazarus

Louise Walker, former health and science professional and now busy mum of two, knows how difficult it can be to find time for yourself in today’s stressful world.   Walker’s new App, ‘Pretty Pronto’, aims to make the process of finding beauty businesses and booking appointments more streamlined. Users create unique personal profiles, enter their location and availability, and are immediately shown beauty businesses in their area and the services they provide.  Walker says it’s like “tinder for beauty.”

Walker has personal experience with the clunky way beauty appointments are currently handled, and how difficult it can be for time poor people to manage them.  She describes an afternoon where “after countless phone calls and wasted time, when I eventually found a salon with an available appointment, my time was up, and motherly duties beckoned again.”  Walker saw a gap in the market, and set about developing Pretty Pronto.

Pretty Pronto makes it easer to keep in touch with service providers and keep track of appointments. Walker is focused both on the benefits for users, who will gain an easier, simpler way of researching beauty salons and making appointments, and the benefits for beauty businesses, who can further their reach through the App and show off their business to the world.

Pretty Pronto is, for the beauty world, a game changer.  Walker acknowledges that beauty businesses have been lagging behind, and “how an appointment is made has not evolved with the tech age we live in”.   With the App, she hopes to bring cosmetic businesses into today.

“Pretty Pronto offers a way for these businesses to keep up with the times.  We live in such a fast paced world and whilst everyone juggles varying schedules, Pretty Pronto makes booking appointments simple.”

Walker is looking forward to building Pretty Pronto, as she believes that “this App is both innovative and relevant. My priority is to continue to grow and develop this App into a household name and an essential component to the beauty industry.”

“Whether you’re a time poor professional, visiting a new city or a parent struggling to find time to locate a hairdresser with availability, Pretty Pronto is ultimately your answer to maintaining you.

“With the widespread use of dating Apps and ride share services such as Uber and Taxify, people are now comfortable with the idea of ‘finding and booking’ services online.

“Pretty Pronto is free to download and use and listings for beauty businesses are also free until mid 2018.

“As the App evolves, we will also add other features to enhance the user experience.”

Service categories include hair, eyebrows and lashes, spray tans, make up, skin and body treatments and other services.  Pretty Pronto can be downloaded via the Apple App Store.
