The Mechanical Maverick - 7 Tips For Taking Care of a Luxury Vehicle

  • Written by: News Feature Team

A luxury vehicle is a beautiful thing to have in your life. It is an investment and a statement and you want it to age as gracefully as possible. Your baby deserves the best, so to keep it running and looking it’s best follow these seven tips for taking care of your luxury vehicle.

  1. Follow Your Service and Tune-Up Schedule

Once you have gone through the process of visiting latitude finance for car loans and got your new car safely home, you need to make sure you stick like glue to your maintenance schedule. Luxury cars are a big commitment and you want to look after them.

Regular checks and servicing can help prevent many common problems.

Your car is rarer than the average car and logically this means any parts you might need will be more expensive than usual, so anything you can do to avoid needing to order replacements should be done.

  1. Don’t Just Use The Local Mechanic

Not all garages and mechanics are created equal.

To ensure your car is getting the best care possible, you should put in some research and consideration when deciding who to use for servicing and repairs. What you want is someone who specializes in luxury vehicles and knows what makes your car stand apart from others. An expert who specializes in mobile car servicing will know where to order parts from and what needs to be checked and maintained in your specific car.

  1. Wash Regularly

Washing your car should be something you want to do, you should take pride in your car and give it as much attention as you can spare. You bought a luxury car at least partly because of how it looks, so washing every couple of weeks makes sense. Regular washing will prevent rust and help maintain your paint and body work. Always ensure you dry down your ar after a wash or you will be left with streaky water marks.

  1. Wax On, Wax … On

Just washing isn’t always enough, you should also invest in a good wax and work this into your maintenance routine. Waxing your car is another line of defence against grit and will just keep your car looking amazing.

  1. Don’t Make Your Car Work Harder Than it Has to

A big part of keeping your luxury vehicle running luxuriously is ensuring that it is never working harder than it needs to. You should ensure all of your levels are maintained (oil, brake fluid, coolants, etc) and that you are investing in high quality fuel and oil.

You also need to keep a close eye on your tires.

Look for even wearing in the tread and keep your air pressure within the recommended levels. If you do notice that your tires are wearing unevenly you should look into realignment.

  1. Don’t Forget Your Interiors

When it comes to keeping your car looking sleek don’t forget that your car interiors need love too! Invest in a decent leather polish and make sure the ingredients are compatible with your interior. This will help keep up appearances and the value!

  1. Sun Protection is Vital

Many people don’t realise how much of an impact the sun can have on your vehicle. Prolonged sun exposure can fade paint and bleach any plastic parts of the interior. You should, therefore, always keep your car in a carport or garage when you aren’t driving it.

Follow these simple rules and you and your car will be the envy of every rev-head for miles around!
